what the critics are saying

“Reveals a new maturity and depth, and the arrangements are simply sensational; they have punch and are full of creative ideas.”
–Talkin' Broadway

“A seasoned performer who has a cunning way with a song.”
–Chicago Tribune

“Something to sing about, approaching each tune with an elegant passion tempered by boyish glee, in a style which slips easily from delicate polishing to power-lifting.”
–Dallas Morning News

“The most important new male cabaret performer since Michael Feinstein. A pop baritone of impeccable polish.”
–The New York Times

Jeff Harnar
Dancing in the Dark

Jeff Harnar has long been a New York favorite: twice honored by the Manhattan Association of Cabaret Award (MAC) as Best Male Vocalist and three-time winner of the Back Stage Bistro Award, he's appeared in all the major venues, from Carnegie Hall to the Algonquin's Oak Room, from Rainbow & Stars to the Russian Tea Room. DANCING IN THE DARK is his celebration of New York City, consisting of a dozen classics of the Great American Songbook (along with a few obscurities), backed up by a full orchestra. Alex Rybeck serves as music director and arranger, and co-produced the recording with Harnar.
