Philip Chaffin
Warm Spring Night
His first CD, Where Do I Go from You? took its cue from the big-band era; WARM SPRING NIGHT celebrates nearly a century of romantic Broadway songs, from Kern and Duke to Sondheim and Menken. Standards like "Out of My Dreams" and "Haunted Heart" receive loving and lavish treatment alongside lesser-known fare like Sondheim's "Silly People" and Kern's "Heaven in My Arms" – plus the premiere recording of an unknown Gershwin tune. Conducted by Kevin Stites, with a guest appearance by Rebecca Luker.
